Deforestation

Saturday, April 10th, 2010

I wasn’t really going to write anything about these previews, simply because what I’ve seen so far seems reasonable and the characters I play have had a couple of things I’ve been excited about and not really anything I’m particularly disappointed. The plan was to add an overall view towards the end of my healing series. Then they added the druid preview, the one I care the most about…

Heroic 5man changes

Wednesday, January 13th, 2010

The last patch provided some much needed changes to some of the 5man dungeons, for example is Ionar in Halls of Lightning much less annoying now that he only disperses once instead of 3 times in the fight making it seem you can only get one crit off before being made to run away again. I quite like this change and there are more coming! MMO-Champion has announced more planned changes which will reduce the annoyance further and speed up certain encounter.

LFG revamped with 3.3

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009

Patch 3.3 introduced a cross realm dungeon finder and added looking for raid (LFR) as a separate feature. Although there are some nice changes added with LFR, the LFG has undertaken the biggest changes and this is what I will be focusing on here.

The eye to the left still looks as creepy as before

The first obvious change stares back at you as soon as you open the LFG window. It looks completely different. Not only is it prettier and more colourful, but it has all the information you need in one window and completely removes the random browsing. Either you want to go to a dungeon or your don’t. At the top of the window you select which role(s) you want to go as and have the appropriate spec for. Below it is a drop down window that lets you choose either a random or a specific dungeon (either normal or heroic). Enter the find group queue and you’re all set to go! It doesn’t even have to send you into a random group, you can just make the group with friends or using the LFG channel in a city and then use the LFG tool to get portalled in a random or specific dungeon! Awesome!
