Most classes find themselves healing differently if they are assigned to tank healing than if they were put on raid healing duty. There are several reasons for this, one is obviously mana management while another is healing output and efficiency. Once again this post will focus mostly on a 10 man scenario where it’s beneficial to know how to heal both the tanks and the raid, however, each section will touch upon the healing rotations you might favour in 25 man where the healing assignments are stricter.
This is meant to help understand how your co-healer works, as well as help those new to healing to get a basic understanding how their class works in regards to tank and raid healing. The abilities most commonly used by each classes have been explained in the introduction to each class, so you can use those as a reference point should you need it: discipline priest, holy priest, restoration druid, restoration shaman and holy paladin.

You can do more than just get your shiny gear and that is what will be discussed here. Gemming and enchanting it to the best of your ability will make the gear even better and up your stats even more. Then you can use self buffs such as food and elixirs or a flask prior to an encounter to further maximise your stats. If you are particular about your stats and want an ever further boost, particularly useful in a progression oriented guilds, you could choose professions which would benefit you most stats wise. Finally I will touch upon glyph swapping and how that can benefit you for certain encounters.

I wasn’t really going to write anything about these previews, simply because what I’ve seen so far seems reasonable and the characters I play have had a couple of things I’ve been excited about and not really anything I’m particularly disappointed. The plan was to add an overall view towards the end of my healing series. Then they added the druid preview, the one I care the most about…

Unfortunately, if you want to heal at level 80 you have to get to that level first which can be a long and daunting process. Thankfully there have been tweaks and additions in recent patches which will help speed up the levelling. This post will look into what spec to level as once you have chosen the class you prefer, then there will be some comments about gear before it’s finished off with some tips on having fun while levelling. However, the very first thing you need to do is decide what class you want to level.

This is a post I thought I’d write as an insight into feral druid tanking. My main, Sylvaine, is a level 80 feral druid tank. I’ve been tanking since early-mid Burning Crusade, tanking everything up to but not including Sunwell Peninsula. Currently I am not in a raiding guild, preferring to raid current content with friends and PUGs due to not being able to commit to full time raiding. Because of this, some of what I will write will only be based on what I’ve read from various sources and researched.

- HoTs, baby! Yeah!
Introduction
A druid is particularly famous for both being in tree form and for having a wide range of heal over time spells (HoTs) to choose from. There are a few different types of PvE trees where the main ones are the 25 man raid healer, the 25 man tank healer or the 10 man healer. These often value different types of tactics and sometimes also slightly different stats on gear. This is going to be a quick introduction to tree healing for those not familiar with it.

A few months ago, right after I had created my blog I saw the chain of healing bloggers posted on various sites feeling relieved that no one really knew about my site and therefore couldn’t tag me. The chain was started by Miss Medicina and has had an impressive number of participants.
Why was I so happy to not be included you might wonder. Well, I am terrible for rambling away when I get asked questions and I have until now felt quite confident that I escaped this questionnaire. Then, BAM from the out of nowhere, the chain gets revisited and Chayah sees the opportunity to include me. I could of course pretend I never read said blog post, but not logging into the game for a couple of weeks hoping he would forget about it and not suggest I go read his blog seems a bit drastic, so, well, here I am, filling out said questionnaire…

This post could have been posted a month ago, but I wanted to make sure I’d healed the first four bosses as multiple classes before writing it. So far my restoration druid, holy paladin and discipline priest have healed the majority of the bosses in this wing. (My shaman is currently elemental and enhancement dual spec, so she has yet to go here as a healer.) As I have not been very eager to pug ICC25 yet, this post will focus on the 10man encounters. I will not go into general tactics and assume you have already read these elsewhere and are familiar with the various abilities in the different encounters. If you are not yet familiar with this, please have a look at Tankspot (they have some great videos), Wow Wiki or other sites with proper tactics. The post is mostly aiming at new or less experienced healers as hard core raiders are already far past this wing of ICC.

Earlier in the week, Charles of Planet of the Hats asked if I wanted to do a guest post on his blog. This sounded terribly frightening as he is into the fancy number crunching that make my brain cells flee. Thankfully he quickly reassured me that I was not required to have any numbers in my post, so I accepted his offer and started plotting how to take over the world as usual. The first thing on the agenda would naturally be to convince his shaman followers to reroll as druids!
So I did what I do best, I wrote something entirely useless!
You can see what I polluted his blog with here!
